The Swedish Ship Götheborg sails again (Engelsk/Kinesisk)
The book, that is initiated by SOIC, presents the unique project of Ostindiefararen Götheborg in both words and pictures in an easy accessible way. The book gives the feeling of both sailing and the smell of the ocean. It decribes how it must have been like to sail to China in the 1700s and how you manage a full rig today.

The book describes how it all started with av few shards of porcelain, and resulated in the recreation of a stately ship from the 1700s - one of the worlds largest fullrigged woodenships that is both sailing and furfills the international security standards for ocean-going vessels.
The book is presenting both the marinearceologic investigation 1986-92, the dream of the making of a ship, the reserch- and contructionwork and the whole shipbuilding project 1995-2005, piece by piece, until the ship is launched into the ocean, christening of the ship, sailing trials and its maiden voyage.
Apart from all this, the book also includes an exciting recap of Svenska Ostindiska Compagniets activities during the 1700s, the chinese trade, the long expeditions and the exotic merchendise and also the dramatic grounding on the ship on its way into its harbour of Gothenburg 1745. There is also captivating quotes from the 1700s diary that has been found, and new facts.
